Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC) announced the appointment of Paul Carreiro as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 6, 2026. Riley McCormack will step down from the CEO role but remain on the company's Board of Directors.

Carreiro brings over 25 years of experience in enterprise software. He most recently served as CEO of Elemica for two years, where he helped drive the company toward $100 million in revenue in 2026. Previously, as President of Global Field Operations at Kinaxis, he oversaw revenue growth from $90 million to over $450 million across six years. He also held executive positions at Infor Global Solutions and SAP Industries North America.

"I couldn't be more excited to welcome Paul to Digimarc," McCormack stated. "He brings a powerful combination of technical fluency, platform and ecosystem thinking, and global commercial leadership, along with a proven track record of scale-up success."

Carreiro said the company operates "at the intersection of markets where trust and authenticity are becoming not just important, but mission critical." He noted that artificial intelligence is accelerating the creation and manipulation of content, making verification capabilities increasingly important.

Katie Kool, Chair of Digimarc's Board of Directors, said McCormack successfully led a transformation to build "a stronger, more focused company with a differentiated position in important and growing markets." She added that Carreiro's track record positions him to accelerate the company's strategy.

The company also announced it has entered into an equity offering program to provide flexibility for commercialization and market expansion. Details are available in a Form 8-K filing.

Digimarc develops authentication and verification solutions for physical and digital applications, including currency protection for central banks.
