Tompkins Community Bank seeks approval to rename to Tompkins Bank & Trust
Tompkins Financial Corporation announced it has requested regulatory approval to rebrand Tompkins Community Bank as Tompkins Bank & Trust. The company stated the new name reflects its reputation as a financial partner and its commitment to relationship-based banking.
The bank operates more than 50 banking offices across Western, Central and Hudson Valley New York, as well as Southeastern Pennsylvania. Founded in 1836, the institution has operated for nearly 190 years.
"The new name better reflects who we are today and the strength of the relationships we have built over generations," said Stephen Romaine, president and CEO of Tompkins Financial Corporation.
The company stated that the name change will not alter products, services or local teams. Customers will continue to receive the same service and local decision-making, according to the announcement.
Subject to regulatory approval, the Tompkins Bank & Trust name and brand will be introduced across the organization's locations over the coming year. The transition represents a step forward that reinforces the bank's capabilities while honoring its historical values, the company said.
The bank provides commercial and consumer banking services, as well as wealth management services through its Tompkins Financial Advisors brand. The information was disclosed in a press release statement.
