Upwork Inc. (NASDAQ: UPWK) announced changes to its board of directors following its annual stockholders meeting on June 4, 2026. Claire Bramley and David Lissy joined the board as new directors and will serve on the Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee.

Bramley currently serves as chief financial officer of Xero and previously held the same role at Teradata. She has more than 20 years of finance leadership experience at global technology companies, including senior roles at HP. Bramley is an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Lissy spent nearly two decades as chief executive officer and later executive chairman of Bright Horizons, leading the company through its initial public offering and multiple transactions.

The appointments follow the conclusion of service by directors Anilu Vazquez-Ubarri and Leela Srinivasan, who served on the board for five and six years respectively.

"Claire and David join Upwork at a moment of real opportunity, as we build the company for the AI-enabled future of work," said Thomas Layton, chair of the board.

Upwork operates a marketplace connecting businesses with freelance talent and also owns Lifted, which provides enterprise solutions for contingent workforce management. The company states it has facilitated more than $30 billion in total transactions since its founding.
