Ainos expands AI Nose platform into hospital emergency departments
Ainos Inc. (NASDAQ: AIMD) announced that research firm VASRO GmbH published a report discussing the company's expansion of its AI Nose platform into emergency department operations at an Asian academic medical center.
The research program deploys AI Nose technology within a live emergency department to evaluate environmental scent analysis for overcrowding early warning and respiratory infection risk analysis. The initiative is designed to generate more than 2,500 hours of emergency department environmental data.
According to the VASRO report, this deployment expands AI Nose beyond its current applications in semiconductor manufacturing, industrial environments, and robotics into healthcare infrastructure. The platform digitizes scent into machine-readable data for artificial intelligence applications.
VASRO noted similarities between semiconductor manufacturing facilities and hospital emergency departments as dynamic environments where early detection of changing conditions may provide operational value. The deployment aims to broaden the range of environments where the platform is evaluated while generating real-world scent data for Ainos' Smell Language Model development.
"We believe the value of Smell AI, powered by AI Nose, comes from its ability to operate across a growing range of real-world environments," said Eddy Tsai, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ainos.
AI Nose integrates sensor arrays with proprietary AI algorithms designed to support parts-per-billion level scent detection sensitivity. The platform converts scent signals into structured data while the Smell Language Model learns and classifies scent patterns over time.
Ainos operates as a dual-platform AI and biotech company, developing both smell technology and immune therapeutics. The company also develops VELDONA, a low-dose oral interferon targeting rare, autoimmune, and infectious diseases.
