Azorra orders 15 more Embraer E195-E2 jets, pushes E2 total past 500
Investing.com -- Embraer and Azorra signed a firm order for 15 E195-E2 aircraft on Friday, with purchase rights for 15 additional jets. The deal marks the third expansion of Azorra's original E2 order, which was first placed in December 2021.
Azorra's total firm E2 orders now stand at 54 aircraft, up from 39. The order pushes Embraer's total E2 orders beyond 500 aircraft, a milestone for the program. More than 200 E2 aircraft are currently in operation with 24 airline customers.
John Evans, chief executive officer of Azorra, said the company's continued investment reflects strong demand from airlines for right-sized, fuel-efficient aircraft. He noted the E2 delivers operational and economic advantages to airline customers.
Arjan Meijer, president and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, called Azorra an important partner in the E2's global success. He said surpassing 500 E2 orders reflects growing momentum for fuel-efficient aircraft.
The E195-E2 is Embraer's largest commercial aircraft. It features a two-by-two seating configuration with no middle seats.
Embraer will add the new order to its 2026 second-quarter results and backlog.
