June 5, 2026 7:00 AM

Portillo's Inc. (NASDAQ: PTLO) announced plans to open a restaurant at 304 North Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago, marking the company's first inline location in the city.

The 5,500-square-foot restaurant will be located at the corner of North Michigan Avenue and East Wacker Place, near Millennium Park and Navy Pier. The location will feature nearly 100 seats and offer dine-in, pickup and delivery services.

"Chicago is where the Portillo's story began, and opening in the heart of the city is not only an incredibly proud moment for our brand, but also a recognition of how important Chicagoans are, not only to our history, but to our future," said Brett Patterson, President and Chief Executive Officer.

The restaurant will serve Portillo's menu including Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs, char-broiled burgers, salads and chocolate cake. This will be the company's second inline restaurant format, designed for high-foot-traffic environments as part of its growth strategy.

The new location will be Portillo's fourth restaurant in Chicago and 45th in the greater Chicagoland area. The company operates more than 100 restaurants across 11 states, having grown from a hot dog stand that opened in suburban Chicago more than six decades ago.

Portillo's did not specify an opening date for the Michigan Avenue location. The company stated the information is based on its press release announcement.
