eHealth partners with Nexben to launch ICHRA health benefit solution
eHealth Inc. (NASDAQ: EHTH) announced a partnership with Nexben to develop Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) solutions for employers and health benefit brokers. The collaboration combines eHealth's online health insurance marketplace with Nexben's benefits administration platform.
The partnership aims to create what the companies describe as an employee-centric ICHRA solution that allows employers to provide defined monthly contributions toward employee health coverage while giving workers access to plans from approximately 50 national and regional carriers.
"This partnership seeks to help make it easier for people to shop for health coverage with the same clarity and confidence they expect in other parts of their lives," said Derrick Duke, CEO of eHealth.
The integrated platform will offer brokers smart quoting technology, insurer integration, and licensing support across states. Employees can compare Affordable Care Act-compliant plans, view employer contributions, and enroll online or by phone with licensed agent support.
For employers, the solution provides flexibility in structuring contributions across employee classes, real-time enrollment visibility, and automated premium payments. The companies cite potential average savings of 17% on healthcare costs based on eHealth's analysis of third-party data comparing individual rates to group plan rates in six states.
"By combining Nexben's ICHRA administration and payment capabilities with eHealth's marketplace and advisory expertise, we are focused on putting control back into the hands of consumers," said Mark Smith, CEO of Nexben.
According to the HRA Council, ICHRA enrollment increased more than 50% year over year in 2025. The partnership targets this growing market by providing integrated quoting, enrollment, and payment workflows designed to reduce administrative complexity.
eHealth operates as a licensed insurance agency offering access to plans from more than 180 health insurers. Nexben provides benefits administration technology focusing on defined contribution and ICHRA strategies.
