Natera partners with CytoDyn for colorectal cancer drug development

June 4, 2026 8:01 AM

Natera Inc. (NASDAQ: NTRA) and CytoDyn Inc. (OTCQB: CYDY) announced a strategic collaboration to evaluate circulating tumor DNA dynamics and generate molecular insights for CytoDyn's metastatic colorectal cancer development program.

Under the agreement, Natera will assess clinical trial samples from CytoDyn's CLOVER Phase 2 study using its Signatera assay for molecular residual disease detection. The study evaluates leronlimab in combination with trifluridine/tipiracil and bevacizumab in patients with previously treated metastatic colorectal cancer.

Natera will provide customized real-world data analyses using its oncology database, which contains more than 2 million plasma timepoints with clinical and imaging records. The company will integrate molecular response data from its testing platform with electronic medical record data to analyze patient populations, treatment patterns, and response dynamics.

The collaboration follows completion of enrollment in the CLOVER study and aims to complement ongoing translational and biomarker analyses. CytoDyn completed enrollment in the study, which is registered as NCT06699836 on ClinicalTrials.gov.

"Signatera has become an increasingly important tool in precision oncology and clinical development," said Jacob Lalezari, chief executive officer of CytoDyn. "Through this collaboration, we expect to gain valuable insights into ctDNA response kinetics and disease progression that may help guide future development strategies for leronlimab in colorectal cancer and potentially other solid tumor indications."

Matt Love, vice president of biopharma data and AI partnering at Natera, said the platform enables biopharma partners to better understand disease biology, treatment response, and patient outcomes to inform development decisions.

CytoDyn is developing leronlimab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the CCR5 receptor. Natera operates laboratories in Austin, Texas, San Carlos, California, and Boulder, Colorado.
