American Express and Delta add benefits to SkyMiles cards
American Express (NYSE: AXP) and Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) announced new travel benefits for Delta SkyMiles card members, according to a company statement.
Starting immediately, Basic Delta SkyMiles Gold, Platinum and Reserve consumer and business card members will receive a complimentary second checked bag on domestic Delta-operated flights. Delta SkyMiles Gold and Gold Business card members will also gain access to a $120 annual rideshare credit after card renewal, providing up to $10 in monthly statement credits on eligible U.S. rideshare purchases.
The companies introduced refreshed card designs across the portfolio, including a new Slate Grey option for Reserve and Reserve Business cards. The changes come with no increase to annual fees and mark the 30th anniversary of the Delta SkyMiles American Express partnership.
New card members can earn bonus miles through limited-time offers when approved by July 15, 2026. Welcome offers range from 70,000 to 125,000 bonus miles depending on the card tier and spending requirements within the first six months of membership.
The Gold card offers 70,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000, plus an additional 20,000 miles after spending another $2,000. The Platinum card provides 80,000 bonus miles after $4,000 in spending, plus 20,000 additional miles after another $2,000. The Reserve card offers 100,000 bonus miles after $6,000 in spending, plus 25,000 additional miles after another $3,000.
Business card versions offer 90,000 to 125,000 bonus miles with spending requirements ranging from $6,000 to $15,000 in the first six months.
