June 4, 2026 7:45 AM

Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc (NASDAQ: JAZZ) announced it will present 21 abstracts at SLEEP 2026, the annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, taking place June 14-17, 2026, in Baltimore. The presentations include 11 late-breaking abstracts focused on Xywav (calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium oxybates) oral solution for treating narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia.

The research presentations will cover post-hoc analyses of the DUET study examining sleep inertia in narcolepsy patients, treatment outcomes for idiopathic hypersomnia participants, and dosing patterns above the standard 9 grams per night recommendation for narcolepsy patients. Six presentations will feature findings from the LYRICAL study examining real-world treatment experiences of U.S. adults taking Xywav.

Additional presentations will include the development of conceptual disease models for narcolepsy type 1 and type 2 from patient perspectives, and analyses of cardiovascular biomarkers following Xywav treatment initiation.

Xywav is the only low-sodium oxybate approved by the FDA for treating cataplexy or excessive daytime sleepiness in patients 7 years and older with narcolepsy. It is also the first and only FDA-approved treatment for idiopathic hypersomnia in adults. The drug contains 92% less sodium compared to high-sodium oxybate alternatives, with 131 mg of sodium at maximum recommended nightly dose versus 1,640 mg for equivalent doses of other formulations.

The medication carries a boxed warning for central nervous system depression and abuse potential, and is available only through a restricted distribution program under a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy.
