Mizuho Reiterates Outperform Rating on Meta Platforms (META), 'see the messenger opportunity as underappreciated'
Mizuho analyst Lloyd Walmsley reiterated an Outperform rating and $835.00 price target on Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ: META).
The analyst commented: "Meta Conversations showcased the massive opportunity for (1) scaling messenger surfaces monetization, (2) monetizing AI investment, and (3) expanding commercial activity in messenger that will drive value and pricing in the core ad business. Meta extended Business Agents globally, and introduced how they will monetize Business Agents. They announced the Meta Business Agent Platform and teased business search in WhatsApp, restricted to companies paying for Business AI. We believe the keynote highlighted significant economic activity inside WhatsApp set to shift an order of magnitude with AI tools they bring to bear, with positive repercussion throughout the business. This helps explain the investment in AI and an ROI path. Meta messenger platform combines the power of Agentic AI with commercial activity already in a chat-based interface, a large and under-appreciated competitive advantage (vs. AI chatbots) to monetize commercial consumer AI use. We see the messenger opportunity as underappreciated by investors."
