8X8 launches Pulse conversational intelligence platform

8x8 Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT) announced the introduction of 8x8 Pulse, a conversational intelligence solution designed to analyze business communications data. The platform is currently available in early access to select 8x8 customers.

The solution operates on what the company describes as a conversational data foundation that processes various types of business communications, including sales calls, customer success reviews, support interactions, emails, and internal chats. The system combines this communication data with customer relationship management data and financial information from across organizations.

8x8 Pulse can be accessed as a standalone application, integrated within Salesforce and Chrome browser environments, or through the company's 8x8 Work platform. The system also provides email digest notifications when specific signals are identified.

"You don't search your own memory, the right thing just surfaces when you need it," said Hunter Middleton, Chief Product Officer at 8x8. "Companies never had that. They had recordings nobody replays and knowledge that might walk out the door."

According to research from Metrigy cited in the announcement, 32.1% of customer experience leaders at companies with declining customer service report they are not adequately utilizing customer feedback, despite analytics capabilities ranking among top transformation priorities for more than half of surveyed companies.

Beth Schultz, VP of Research and Principal Analyst at Metrigy, commented that placing intelligence capabilities within the conversation platform rather than as separate layers could reduce integration delays between customer interactions and actionable insights.

The Campbell, California-based company provides business communications platforms that combine contact center, unified communications, and communications platform-as-a-service solutions.
