Genasys partners with Intterra to integrate evacuation alerts in California
Genasys Inc. (NASDAQ: GNSS) announced a strategic partnership with Intterra to integrate the Intterra Aware platform with Genasys Protect for California's new statewide public safety information system.
The integration will enable agencies participating in AwareCA to initiate evacuation communications directly within Intterra's Aware Intel Hub and Aware Ops, delivering information to the public through the AwareCA app. California agencies using Genasys Protect will be able to input evacuation alerts, warnings, and orders directly into AwareCA.
Earlier this year, CAL FIRE selected Intterra's AwareCA as California's statewide public safety information platform. The AwareCA app is scheduled to be available for download this month from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
"Evacuation orders are life-or-death decisions — there is no margin for delay, distortion, or secondhand interpretation," said Robert Wolf, CEO at Intterra. "Through our partnership with Genasys, the moment an evacuation order is issued, AwareCA delivers it instantly to the public — verified, authoritative, and directly from the source."
Stephen Sickler, Vice President of Genasys SaaS Field Operations, said California agencies using Genasys Protect will be able to push zone-based alerts to the AwareCA app in real time.
Intterra is working to expand the AwareCA model and its Aware platform across the United States. The company provides a Common Operating Platform called Aware Intel Hub, field operations mobile app Aware Ops, and public information mobile apps.
Genasys describes itself as a provider of preparedness, response, and analytics software and hardware solutions, covering more than 155 million people in all 50 states and in over 100 countries.
