Teledyne HiRel launches space-screened low noise amplifier for satellites

June 3, 2026 8:03 AM

Teledyne HiRel Semiconductors, a unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced the release of the TDLNA0840SEP, a space-screened wideband low noise amplifier designed for satellite applications.

The amplifier operates across frequencies from 0.3 to 4.0 GHz and targets satellite constellations in low Earth orbit and medium Earth orbit, according to a company statement. The device is designed to reduce size, weight and power consumption in space-constrained environments.

The TDLNA0840SEP builds on the existing TDLNA0840 family and includes space-level screening intended to simplify qualification processes for mission-critical deployments. The amplifier features an internally matched package for integration into satellite payloads, phased arrays and telemetry systems.

"Today's space programs demand solutions that balance performance, power efficiency and reliability," said Mont Taylor, Vice President of Business Development, Signal and Power Switching. "The TDLNA0840SEP enables high-performance RF front ends with simplified qualification and mission-ready reliability."

The product is available immediately with evaluation boards and technical documentation provided to support design integration. The company stated that devices undergo screening specifically for space applications.

Teledyne HiRel Semiconductors operates as part of Teledyne Aerospace & Defense Electronics, providing semiconductor solutions for aerospace, defense, space and industrial applications.
