Celularity names Rick Gonzalez as chief commercial officer

June 3, 2026 8:00 AM

Celularity Inc. (NASDAQ: CELU) appointed Rick Gonzalez as chief commercial officer, effective May 29, 2026, according to a company statement. Gonzalez will oversee global commercial strategy for the company's cenplacel-L therapy, Lifebank cellular banking service, and broader regenerative medicine portfolio.

Gonzalez brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience in biotechnology and medical technology. He previously served as chief commercial officer at Alume Biosciences and as president and CEO of Navidea Biopharmaceuticals, where he led 2.5x year-over-year revenue growth. At Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, he helped scale global revenue from $7.7 million to approximately $300 million as senior vice president of global operations.

The appointment supports Celularity's commercialization efforts for cenplacel-L, a placental-derived cell therapy that the company has made available to physicians for investigational use in certain jurisdictions. The therapy, clinically investigated as PDA-001 and PDA-002, represents more than two decades of research into postpartum placental cells.

Gonzalez will also lead expansion of Lifebank, which generated sales in 2025 and allows expectant parents and adults to bank their cells for potential future use. The service is part of Celularity's cellular banking platform.

"Rick's appointment comes at an important time for Celularity as we continue to advance our revenue-generating strategy," said Robert Hariri, the company's chairman and CEO.

Celularity develops allogeneic and autologous cell therapies derived from postpartum placenta, focusing on regenerative and cellular medicine applications.
