Jacobs continues as program manager for San Francisco waterfront resilience
Jacobs (NYSE: J) will continue serving as program manager for the Port of San Francisco's Waterfront Resilience Program, a multibillion-dollar initiative to protect the city's waterfront from seismic and climate threats, according to a company statement.
The program covers 7.5 miles of waterfront and includes preserving and fortifying the city's 100-year-old Embarcadero Seawall. The initiative aims to protect regional transportation facilities, utilities and over $100 billion in assets and annual economic activity.
Jacobs has supported the program for nearly a decade and will continue guiding program development, strategic planning and engineering. The company will work with PA Consulting on the next phase of infrastructure modernization.
The program addresses earthquake safety, flood protection and adaptation to sea level rise. Life-safety upgrades will reinforce historic piers, wharfs and buildings that support emergency response and the city's municipal transit and utility systems.
"The Waterfront Resilience Program is more than an infrastructure improvement program — it's a lifeline for the city's future," said Eva Wood, Jacobs Executive Vice President. "Having worked on the program since its inception in 2017, Jacobs brings deep experience in navigating the opportunities unique to San Francisco's historic waterfront."
Jacobs reports approximately $12 billion in annual revenue and employs approximately 47,000 people. The company completed its acquisition of the remaining equity interest in PA Consulting on March 20, 2026.
