Akamai partners with GM Sectec for AI workforce security compliance
Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM) announced that GM Sectec has joined its Partner Connect Program to help enterprises transition to PCI DSS v4.0.1 compliance and address security challenges from autonomous AI agents.
The partnership addresses regulatory changes that now treat AI agents as human identities with no exemptions for machine-driven data access. Organizations face security gaps from untracked APIs created for AI integration in cardholder data environments.
"Partnering with Akamai builds on our global leadership in PCI-led managed security services, facilitating the adoption of innovative technologies to address the evolving requirements of PCI DSS v4.0.1," said Héctor Guillermo Martínez, President of GM Sectec.
The collaboration integrates GM Sectec's PCI compliance validation and tokenization technology with Akamai's security portfolio. Key components include GM Sectec's Non-Human Identity governance for auditing machine access, Akamai API Security for monitoring API behavior, and Akamai Guardicore Segmentation for ransomware containment.
GM Sectec operates four global Critical Incident Response and Replication Centers providing managed detection and response services. The company has operations in more than 50 countries and specializes in PCI-led managed security and fraud prevention.
"Akamai's technology portfolio, particularly Akamai API Security and Akamai Guardicore Segmentation, finds the ideal complement in GM Sectec's extensive experience in PCI validation and forensics," said Saulo Rodrigues Miranda, Vice President of Sales, Latin America, at Akamai.
The Akamai Partner Connect Program supports resale, distribution, technical solutions, services, and referrals with enhanced incentives and region-specific tiering.
