NuScale Power adds two directors to board

NuScale Power Corporation (NYSE: SMR) elected two new directors to its board on May 29, 2026, following a stockholder meeting. Stuart A. Harshaw and Dale E. Klein joined the company's board of directors, bringing the total to nine directors, eight of whom are independent.

Harshaw serves as president and chief executive officer of Nickel Creek Platinum Corp. and president of Stuart Harshaw Consulting. He brings more than 35 years of mining industry leadership experience, including roles with Vale S.A. and Inco Ltd. Harshaw holds a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from Queen's University and a Master of Business Administration from Laurentian University.

Klein is Professor Emeritus in Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin with more than 40 years of nuclear industry experience. He previously served as chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and as Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs. Klein holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

"Dr. Klein's decades of leadership in nuclear regulation, national security, and global nuclear safety, combined with Mr. Harshaw's extensive operational and engineering expertise leading large-scale industrial and resource development projects, will provide tremendous value," said John Hopkins, NuScale president and chief executive officer.

NuScale develops small modular reactor nuclear technology. The company's Power Module can generate 77 megawatts of electricity and can be scaled up to 924 megawatts through multiple module configurations.
