AGCO reports fuel efficiency gains across tractor brands
AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AGCO) announced fuel efficiency improvements across its Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra tractor brands through engine and powertrain integration developed by its AGCO Power division.
Independent DLG PowerMix testing demonstrated the fuel efficiency performance of several AGCO tractor models. The Massey Ferguson 8S.265 Xtra Dyna E-Power placed first overall for fieldwork in its category during recent testing. The Fendt 700 Vario series showed fuel efficiency performance in both field and transport applications.
AGCO Power engines are integrated across the company's tractor lineup. Fendt's latest platforms use the AGCO Power CORE engine family, including the CORE50 in the Fendt 600 Vario series and the CORE75 in the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7 series. Massey Ferguson tractors incorporate AGCO Power engines paired with the brand's transmission systems. Valtra tractors use AGCO Power engines with the brand's EcoPower operating system, which maintains high torque at lower engine speeds.
"For farmers, fuel efficiency is about lowering operating costs without sacrificing the performance and reliability they need during critical fieldwork," said Kari Aaltonen, Director of Engineering at AGCO Power.
Valtra employs a selective catalytic reduction system to enable efficient combustion, contributing to improved fuel consumption compared with previous engine generations. The company stated that the efficiency gains result from combining AGCO Power's engine technology with brand-specific tractor and powertrain integration.
AGCO designs and manufactures agricultural machinery and precision agriculture technologies through its brands including Fendt, Massey Ferguson, PTx and Valtra.
