June 2, 2026 7:05 AM

Lifecore Biomedical, Inc. (NASDAQ: LFCR) announced it has signed a manufacturing services agreement with an ophthalmic disease management company for process development and technical transfer services.

The Chaska, Minnesota-based contract development and manufacturing organization will support the transition of a commercially approved ophthalmic product from vials to pre-filled syringes. The work is intended to prepare for potential commercial manufacturing pending regulatory approval.

"We are pleased to announce another customer win and the opportunity to support an important new technical transfer program," said Paul Josephs, chief executive officer of Lifecore. "This agreement reflects Lifecore's recognized, technical expertise and specialized manufacturing capabilities in the ophthalmic injectables space."

The company described this as its sixth addition to its late-stage pipeline in seven months. Lifecore specializes in sterile injectable pharmaceutical products including syringes, vials, and cartridges.

The program involves reformulating an existing commercial product for delivery in pre-filled syringes rather than vials. Josephs noted that pre-filled syringes represent a growing modality within the company's core capabilities.

Lifecore operates as a fully integrated contract development and manufacturing organization that serves biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The company manufactures injectable-grade hyaluronic acid and has over 40 years of experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.

The announcement was made through a press release statement from the company.
