Voyager Technologies to acquire Astrobotic Technology for $300 million

June 2, 2026 7:01 AM

Voyager Technologies (NYSE: VOYG) announced it signed an agreement to acquire Astrobotic Technology, a Pittsburgh-based commercial lunar delivery company, for approximately $300 million including contingent consideration.

The transaction will be paid through a combination of cash and stock, with the deal expected to close by early July 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, according to the press release.

Astrobotic specializes in commercial lunar delivery, lunar power systems, and reusable rockets. The company was founded in 2007 as a Carnegie Mellon University spinout and has secured more than $600 million in NASA and Department of Defense contracts.

"We are building the infrastructure foundation that will make America's permanent presence on the Moon a reality," said Dylan Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Voyager. "With Astrobotic, Voyager is now a lunar platform that will have capability at every infrastructure layer needed to put Americans on the lunar surface and keep them there."

The acquisition supports NASA's Artemis program and plans for a permanent American presence on the Moon by 2028. Voyager stated it intends to accelerate investment to scale Astrobotic's lunar and reusable rocket programs.

Following the acquisition, Voyager's capabilities will include lunar mission management, surface delivery through Astrobotic's Peregrine and Griffin landers, surface power via Astrobotic's LunaGrid solar distribution system, and long-duration habitation through its previous investment in Max Space.

Astrobotic's Moon Base headquarters in Pittsburgh will serve as the center of Voyager's lunar program after the deal closes. The company recently announced NASA's Moon Base II Griffin Mission One, which remains on schedule.

Voyager will host a conference call for shareholders and analysts on June 2, 2026, at 9 a.m. ET to discuss the transaction details.
