June 2, 2026 6:07 AM

Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI) announced it will showcase the AMD Helios rack-scale platform at Computex in collaboration with AMD. The platform features a 72-GPU double-width rack system powered by AMD Instinct MI455X GPUs, designed for large-scale AI training and inference workloads.

The Helios platform incorporates AMD's 6th Gen EPYC CPUs and Pensando networking technologies, unified by the AMD ROCm software stack. The system enables deployment scaling from single racks to hyperscale AI clusters through Supermicro's Data Center Building Block Solutions architecture.

"By combining Supermicro's DCBBS with AMD Instinct MI455X GPU architecture, we deliver unprecedented AI performance, improved power efficiency through advanced cooling, and scalable infrastructure for next-generation AI workloads," said Charles Liang, president and CEO of Supermicro.

AMD's Ravi Pendekanti, corporate vice president of the Data Center Solutions Business Group, stated that "AMD Helios delivers an open, rack-scale AI architecture that brings together leadership AMD compute, networking and software to help customers accelerate time to deployment, improve infrastructure efficiency and scale demanding AI workloads."

The platform targets cloud service providers, hyperscalers, and enterprises requiring AI infrastructure for applications including sovereign AI, large language model training, inference, and fine-tuning. Key features include modular scalability, open networking capabilities, advanced security, and integrated virtualization with rack-scale software acceleration.

Supermicro identifies as one of the first partners working with AMD to bring the Helios solution to market. The company will display the platform at booth N0602 in Hall 1 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center during Computex, according to the press release.
