Verra Mobility Corporation (NASDAQ: VRRM) announced Jon Keyser has been appointed interim president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. David Roberts stepped down from his roles as president, CEO and board director.

The board of directors determined a leadership transition was necessary as the company operates in a dynamic market and takes actions to realign its cost structure. Roberts led the company for 12 years, including taking it public.

Keyser previously served as chief transformation officer and executive vice president and chief legal officer. He has been with Verra Mobility since 2022, leading cost optimization efforts and working with the Government Solutions team.

"Verra Mobility is at an inflection point, as the Company operates in a dynamic market that continues to evolve and grow," said Patrick Byrne, chairman of the board. "As a result, the Board determined that a change in leadership is needed as the Company takes decisive actions to realign its cost structure and position the business for future success."

The board has retained an executive search firm to identify the company's next CEO. The search will include both internal and external candidates.

Before joining Verra Mobility, Keyser held legal positions at Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies and Harley-Davidson Motor Company. He previously served as an intelligence officer in the United States Air Force with deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.
