Georgia Power names Anthony Oni as corporate affairs vice president
Georgia Power announced that Anthony Oni has joined the company as vice president of Corporate Affairs. In this position, Oni will oversee the company's communications functions, including media relations, social and digital media, branding and advertising, and employee communications.
Oni previously served as Managing Partner at Energy Impact Partners, where he led the Elevate Future Fund, an investment strategy exceeding $100 million focused on grid modernization, utility transformation, and energy infrastructure development in rural and underserved communities.
Before his role at Energy Impact Partners, Oni spent nearly 20 years at Southern Company (NYSE: SO), holding senior leadership positions at Alabama Power and Southern Company Gas. As vice president of Communications at Southern Company Gas, he managed corporate communications, brand strategy, and stakeholder engagement across multiple states.

Earlier in his career, Oni served as director of Digital Strategy and Communications at Alabama Power, leading digital transformation initiatives to enhance customer experience.
Oni founded Cloverly and Ed Farm, and contributed to creating the Propel Center, a digital innovation learning hub for historically Black colleges and universities sponsored by Southern Company, Apple, and The Walt Disney Company.
He holds a bachelor's degree from Auburn University, completed executive education in disruptive innovation at Harvard University, and is a fellow of the Aspen Institute.
Georgia Power serves 2.8 million customers in 155 of Georgia's 159 counties and is the largest electric subsidiary of Southern Company.
