SCIEX expands ZenoTOF platform with new software and partnerships

June 1, 2026 2:00 PM

SCIEX, a Danaher company, announced platform-wide enhancements to its ZenoTOF mass spectrometry line at the ASMS conference. The updates include new software features, expanded hardware compatibility, and software collaborations for life science research applications.

The company released SCIEX OS 5.0 software with new features including Central Metrics Tracker, Central Monitoring, Reporter Template Creator, and AI-enabled functions. The software introduces ZT Scan DIA 3.0, which combines data-independent acquisition with narrower isolation windows. SCIEX reported that the enhanced sensitivity mode on the ZenoTOF 8600 system showed 10% to 40% improvements in identification and quantitation for low-input proteomics workflows.

New hardware integrations include compatibility with the Echo MS+ system, which SCIEX described as sampling at up to one sample per second. The company also announced integration with HDX-MS technology from Trajan Scientific and Medical for protein structure analysis.

SCIEX established compatibility with Evosep and IonOpticks systems, allowing researchers to use Whisper Zoom methods on the ZenoTOF platform. The company signed an agreement with IonOpticks to expand access to liquid chromatography solutions, including Aurora XS columns.

Software collaborations include partnerships with BSI for AI-based proteomic PEAKS software, MS-Dial for metabolomics and lipidomics analysis, and MZIO for mzmine compatibility in metabolomics workflows.

"We are not just delivering incremental performance — but a step change in how researchers can move across the omics continuum," said Jose Castro-Perez, Vice President of Product Management at SCIEX.

The information was provided in a company press release statement. SCIEX is a subsidiary of Danaher Corporation and provides analytical technologies for life science research.
