Keysight receives DEKRA validation for automotive emergency call system

June 1, 2026 11:00 AM

Keysight Technologies Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) announced it achieved certification from DEKRA for its Hybrid eCall solution under the EN 18052:2025 standard. The validation covers emergency communication systems that can switch between legacy and next-generation eCall networks in vehicles.

The certification addresses automotive manufacturers' need to comply with evolving emergency call regulations as cellular networks transition from 2G and 3G to 4G and 5G infrastructure. Keysight's solution enables in-vehicle systems to automatically switch between legacy and next-generation eCall systems based on network availability.

DEKRA's validation confirms the test solution works across the safety ecosystem, including in-vehicle systems, mobile networks, and public safety answering points. The certification builds on Keysight's previous EN 17240 validation.

The testing covers emergency call setup, minimum set of data transmission for vehicle location and telemetry, voice communication quality, and network fallback capabilities when transitioning between different network environments.

Keysight will demonstrate its eCall testing capabilities at the ETSI NG-eCall Plugtests 2026 event, which brings together automotive manufacturers, suppliers, network operators, and emergency services to verify multi-vendor interoperability.

"Our collaboration with Keysight in validating its Hybrid eCall capabilities according to EN 18052:2025 has enabled the verification of critical aspects related to interoperability, reliability, and regulatory readiness," said Lourdes Sánchez, Connectivity Director of DEKRA.

The information is based on a company press release.
