Immuneering reports 17.3-month survival data for pancreatic cancer drug

June 1, 2026 7:31 AM

Immuneering Corporation (NASDAQ: IMRX) reported clinical trial results showing a median overall survival of 17.3 months for patients with first-line metastatic pancreatic cancer treated with its drug candidate atebimetinib combined with chemotherapy.

The data from 55 patients in an ongoing Phase 2a trial were presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting. The company compared the results to 8.5 months median overall survival reported in the MPACT study of standard chemotherapy alone.

The trial evaluated atebimetinib at 320 mg once daily combined with modified gemcitabine/nab-paclitaxel in patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Median progression-free survival was 8.3 months, with a disease control rate of 82% and confirmed overall response rate of 36%.

The treatment showed two categories of Grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events occurring in at least 10% of participants, both related to chemotherapy components. No Grade 4 adverse events related to atebimetinib or Grade 5 treatment-related adverse events were reported. One participant discontinued atebimetinib while continuing chemotherapy.

Eighty-four percent of participants with available data maintained or gained weight at three months. The company noted this as an indicator of preserved performance status in a patient population where weight loss is common.

Immuneering is recruiting patients for MAPKeeper 301, a global randomized Phase 3 trial comparing atebimetinib plus chemotherapy versus standard chemotherapy in first-line metastatic pancreatic cancer. The trial's primary endpoint is overall survival, with first patient dosing expected in mid-2026 and topline results expected in mid-2028.
