Bausch + Lomb launches preservative-free dry eye drops in US

June 1, 2026 6:59 AM

Bausch + Lomb Corporation (NYSE: BLCO) announced the U.S. launch of Blink Triple Care Preservative Free eye drops, a new formulation of its existing dry eye treatment that eliminates preservatives while maintaining the same clinical formula.

The preservative-free version uses the same lipid-based, water-based formula as the original Blink Triple Care, enhanced with natural oil and hyaluronate. According to the company, the product provides up to 10 hours of dry eye symptom relief and creates a dual-action moisture seal to reduce tear evaporation.

"Prolonged screen time and environmental factors are driving an increase in dry eye symptoms, and consumers are looking for products that fit their needs and preferences," said John Ferris, president, Consumer, Bausch + Lomb.

The formulation includes hyaluronate, which occurs naturally in the eyes, and is designed to help reduce dryness, improve comfort and increase vision quality. The product is packaged in a multi-dose bottle despite being preservative-free.

Dr. Jessilin Quint, co-owner of Smart Eye Care in Augusta, Maine, stated that the preservative-free version addresses patient sensitivities to preservatives and may be particularly helpful for people with evaporative dry eye due to its lipid-based formula.

The eye drops will be available at major retailers including Amazon, CVS, Target and Walgreens by the end of June 2026. The product launch expands Bausch + Lomb's dry eye portfolio, which includes the original Blink Triple Care drops and Blink NutriTears nutritional supplement.
