NVIDIA expands robotaxi partnerships with Foxconn, Uber and others
NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) announced partnerships to expand deployment of its DRIVE Hyperion robotaxi platform across multiple global markets, according to a company statement.
Foxconn will develop level 4-ready robotaxi fleets for Taiwan starting in Kaohsiung, with plans to launch service in 2028 beginning with airport-to-city routes. The collaboration aims to scale operations across Asia using Foxconn's manufacturing services and NVIDIA's autonomous vehicle platform.
VinFast is working with Autobrains to bring level 4 vehicles built on DRIVE Hyperion to Southeast Asia markets. The partnership combines VinFast's vehicle development capabilities with Autobrains' autonomous driving software.
Uber plans to integrate DRIVE Hyperion-powered autonomous vehicle fleets into its ride-hailing network, including a robotaxi program in Munich launching later this year through collaboration with Autobrains. The automaker for the Munich program will be announced at a later date.
HUMAIN is developing DRIVE Hyperion-powered robotaxis for Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region.
NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion combines in-vehicle compute hardware, safety-certified operating system software, sensor suite compatibility and autonomous vehicle software designed for level 4 automated driving capabilities.
"Autonomous mobility is entering its industrial scaling moment," said Jensen Huang, NVIDIA founder and CEO. "Vehicles are becoming robots, and robotaxi fleets will require AI infrastructure that can perceive, reason and operate safely in the real world."
The announcements were made at NVIDIA GTC Taipei. The company stated that DRIVE Hyperion provides a common foundation for automakers, autonomous vehicle developers and mobility networks to scale robotaxi operations.
