K92 Mining elects Michael Carew to board of directors
K92 Mining Inc. (TSX: KNT; OTCQX: KNTNF) announced that Michael Carew was elected to the company's board of directors at its annual general meeting of shareholders.
Carew is a geologist with more than 25 years of experience in the mining industry across corporate, technical and capital markets roles. He has worked with major and junior mining companies including BHP Billiton Limited, Mount Isa Mines Limited and Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. His experience spans uranium, base and precious metal ore deposits across Australia, North America and Asia.
Since August 2020, Carew has worked as a consultant in various executive and non-executive positions. From November 2024 to May 2026, he served as vice president of corporate development for Papua New Guinea explorer Great Pacific Gold Corp. He has advised on due diligence for exploration projects at different development stages and held senior corporate development roles with junior resource companies.
From 2013 to 2020, Carew worked as a mining research analyst at Haywood Securities Inc., evaluating companies and projects from early-stage exploration through production. He currently serves as a director and audit committee member of Military Metals Corp. (CSE) and chief executive officer of Walhalla Gold Corp (CSE).
Carew will join K92's audit committee and health and safety committee. He holds a bachelor's degree from Monash University in Melbourne and a PhD in economic geology from James Cook University in Australia.
"Dr. Carew brings a strong combination of technical, exploration, capital markets and corporate development expertise to the K92 Board," said John Lewins, K92's chief executive officer and director, according to the company's statement.
K92 Mining produces gold, copper and silver at the Kainantu Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands province.
