CooperVision appoints Muru Annamalai as Asia-Pacific president
CooperVision, a division of CooperCompanies (NASDAQ: COO), announced the appointment of Muru Annamalai as President for the Asia-Pacific region, effective June 1, 2026.
Annamalai brings more than 20 years of global leadership experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, with commercial expertise spanning Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and other international markets. He previously held senior leadership positions at AbbVie and Abbott, and most recently served as Vice President with TCA Venture Group, where he supported healthcare innovation and growth initiatives.
"Muru is exactly the kind of leader who can accelerate CooperVision's growth, deepen customer partnerships, and expand access to our portfolio across Asia-Pacific," said Debbie Olive, Chief Commercial Officer, according to the company's announcement.
Annamalai holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from University Malaya and a master's in business administration from Heriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom. Originally from Malaysia, he brings international experience from his professional career worldwide.

CooperVision manufactures contact lenses including daily disposable, two-week and monthly soft contact lenses, as well as rigid gas permeable lenses. The company operates as a division of CooperCompanies, which has more than 15,000 employees and sells products in over 130 countries.
