ChargePoint partners with Powers Parts to expand transit charging access

May 29, 2026 8:02 AM

ChargePoint (NYSE: CHPT) announced a partnership with Powers Parts to accelerate transit electrification across North America. The collaboration allows transit agencies operating E2 and ZX5 Phoenix EV buses to purchase ChargePoint hardware, software, and services directly through Powers Parts' distribution network.

The partnership addresses service and support gaps for transit agencies currently operating these electric bus models. Powers Parts, a national distributor of electric vehicle components, will leverage its established relationships with transit agencies to streamline ChargePoint's charging infrastructure procurement and deployment.

"Transit is critical to the broader electrification of transportation, delivering a healthier option for communities and transit riders, as well as superior experience for the drivers," said Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint. The company's fleet management software provides real-time visibility, reporting, and battery performance data to optimize vehicle uptime.

ChargePoint's telematics platform integrates with various vehicle types and charging stations regardless of manufacturer. The system is OCPP compliant, enabling management of third-party hardware solutions and works with mixed-fuel fleets beyond electric vehicles.

Powers Parts specializes in electric vehicle components, drivetrain systems, and thermal management solutions for transit agencies and commercial fleet operators. The company was established to address supply chain and replacement part challenges facing electric transit fleets.

ChargePoint operates over 1.37 million public and private charging ports worldwide and has facilitated more than 21 billion electric miles since its founding in 2007. The company provides charging solutions across North America and Europe.
