EDAP changes name to FocalTherics, shifts focus to robotic focal therapy
EDAP TMS S.A. (NASDAQ: EDAP) announced it will operate under the new corporate name "FocalTherics" to reflect its focus on robotic focal therapy. The company will begin trading under the ticker symbol "FOCL" on June 1, 2026.
The company plans to classify its Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy and Distribution operating segments as discontinued operations beginning with second quarter 2026 financial results. The legal name will remain EDAP TMS S.A., with a formal name change requiring future shareholder approval.
"FocalTherics is derived from the words 'Focal Therapy' and 'Therapeutics,'" said Ryan Rhodes, Chief Executive Officer. "This new name and identity reflects and reinforces the Company's emerging leadership in defining, building and driving the growing category of robotic focal therapy."
The ticker symbol change applies to the company's American Depositary Shares, each representing one Ordinary Share with nominal value €0.13 per share. The shares will continue trading on NASDAQ with the same CUSIP number. No action is required from shareholders regarding these changes.
FocalTherics will hold an Investor Day on June 1, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. ET to discuss its corporate identity, growth strategy and business outlook.
The company develops and markets medical devices using focused ultrasound technology, with its flagship platform being the Focal One Robotic HIFU system that combines imaging, treatment planning, robotic precision and HIFU technology for focal therapy treatments.
