Seer files patent complaint against Nanomics at trade commission

May 29, 2026 7:21 AM

Seer Inc. (NASDAQ: SEER) filed a complaint with the United States International Trade Commission against Nanomics Biotechnology Co., Ltd., seeking to bar the importation of Nanomics' Proteonano kits and workstations. The Brigham and Women's Hospital joined the complaint as a co-plaintiff.

The ITC filing follows a patent infringement lawsuit filed in federal district court on May 12. The complaint alleges Nanomics infringed five U.S. patents related to nanoparticle protein enrichment technology: Patent Nos. 11,435,360, 11,630,112, 12,050,222, 12,228,566, and 12,590,948.

Seer requests the ITC investigate Nanomics' importation and sale of its products and issue an exclusion order preventing these products from entering the United States.

"Filing this ITC complaint, alongside our district court action, reflects our resolve to use every available avenue to protect our technology, innovations, and product integrity," said Omid Farokhzad, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Seer.

The Redwood City, California-based company develops proteomics technology using engineered nanoparticles for protein analysis. Seer's Proteograph Product Suite includes automation instrumentation, consumables, and analytical software for proteomic research.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
