May 28, 2026 4:32 PM

Intuitive (NASDAQ: ISRG) announced the promotion of Taylor Patton to chief commercial and marketing officer, effective July 1. Patton currently serves as global senior vice president of the company's endoluminal business.

Patton will succeed Henry Charlton, who will transition to senior vice president of global business operations. Charlton has held the chief commercial and marketing officer position and will work with Patton during the transition period.

The Sunnyvale, California-based medical technology company stated that Patton has spent nearly two decades with Intuitive in various leadership roles across commercial, marketing, and clinical application engineering functions. He led the global launch of Intuitive's Ion platform for endoluminal procedures.

"Taylor has spent nearly two decades with Intuitive, building and scaling teams across multiple business units and geographies," said CEO Dave Rosa in the announcement. "He is uniquely positioned to lead at this moment in Intuitive's journey."

Rosa noted Charlton's contributions in establishing Intuitive's global presence, stating that the company has enabled physicians to serve over 20 million patients. In his new role, Charlton will focus on generating value for patients, physicians, and healthcare systems.

Patton will join Intuitive's executive leadership team and oversee commercial operations across the company's da Vinci surgical system, Ion endoluminal system, and digital platforms. The company manufactures robotic-assisted surgical systems and related technologies for minimally invasive procedures.

Charlton joined Intuitive in 2003 and expressed his commitment to contributing to the company's continued development in healthcare technology.
