Hershey names Mitchell Arends as chief supply chain officer
The Hershey Company (NYSE: HSY) announced Mitchell Arends will serve as chief supply chain officer effective June 22, 2026. Arends replaces Jason Reiman, who will retire after 30 years with the company but remain through April 2027 to facilitate the transition.
Arends brings over 25 years of supply chain experience in consumer packaged goods. He joins Hershey from UTZ Brands, where he served as executive vice president, principal operating officer, and chief integrated supply chain officer with operational responsibility for a $1.5 billion business. Previously, he was chief supply chain officer of North America at Kraft Heinz, overseeing a $22 billion supply chain operation.
"Mitch is a proven transformational leader with the end-to-end mindset, track record, and people-first approach that will continue to drive Hershey's supply chain forward," said Kirk Tanner, president and CEO of The Hershey Company.
In his new role, Arends will oversee Hershey's integrated supply chain operations including manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and planning. The company stated he will focus on digital integration, automation, and insights-driven planning across the network.
Reiman started at Hershey as an intern and built a career spanning the company's supply chain operations. His tenure included bringing manufacturing capabilities in-house, establishing two digitally integrated manufacturing facilities, and developing the salty snacks network that is now 80% insourced.
"The opportunity to continue building a supply chain for some of the world's most iconic products is an exciting moment in my career," Arends said.
The Hershey Company operates in approximately 65 countries with more than 20,000 employees and generates over $11.7 billion in annual revenues, according to the company.
