XTEND advances to phase II of defense department drone program
XTEND was selected for the Phase II Qualifier of the U.S. Department of Defense's Drone Dominance Program, a defense initiative designed to support procurement of more than 200,000 drones by 2027, according to a statement from JFB Construction Holdings (NASDAQ: JFB).
The robotics company was chosen among a limited group of companies invited to participate in the next phase of the program, scheduled for this summer at Camp Grayling, Michigan. The qualifier event will evaluate autonomous systems across operational scenarios and contested mission environments.
XTEND plans to demonstrate its XOS operating system, which powers human-guided autonomous platforms designed for defense, national security and public safety missions. The company's systems have been deployed operationally in complex real-world environments across defense applications.
"Modern operational environments require autonomous systems that can scale rapidly, operate reliably in contested conditions, and help keep operators out of harm's way," said Aviv Shapira, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of XTEND.
JFB Construction Holdings announced in February 2026 a definitive agreement to combine with XTEND in an all-stock transaction. Following the closing of the business combination, the joint company is expected to be renamed XTEND AI Robotics and listed on a U.S. national securities exchange under the ticker "XTND."
XTEND operates from Tampa, Florida, and has deployed over 10,000 systems in more than 30 countries. The company manufactures through facilities located in the U.S., U.K., Singapore, Israel, and Latvia.
