Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE: AMRC) announced the completion of the first phase of a multi-year manhole rehabilitation project for the City of Mesquite, Texas. The company rehabilitated more than 190 manholes throughout the city's wastewater infrastructure system.

The project targeted manholes showing signs of deterioration across Mesquite's wastewater system, which maintains approximately 6,400 manholes. Ameresco installed a multi-layered polymeric lining system to restore structural integrity and extend service life of the manholes.

The rehabilitation work included comprehensive cleaning of each manhole structure, with holes and cracks grouted and plugged before coating installation. The project aims to minimize inflow and infiltration of stormwater and address potential structural failures.

"We're proud of our continued partnership with the City of Mesquite and the successful completion of this important infrastructure investment," said Louis Maltezos, Co-President of Ameresco.

City Manager Cliff Keheley stated that the proactive approach to rehabilitate aging assets prevents disruptions and manages costs while providing consistent services to citizens.

This project represents the latest initiative in a multi-year partnership between Ameresco and the City of Mesquite focused on modernizing water infrastructure. Previous collaboration included implementing a smart metering infrastructure project for the city's residential and commercial water utility customers.

The Framingham, Massachusetts-based company provides energy infrastructure solutions to government entities, utilities, educational institutions, and commercial customers. Information in this article is based on a company press release statement.
