Alto Neuroscience Inc. (NYSE: ANRO) announced the appointment of Andrew Miller to its board of directors, effective May 27, 2026.

Miller founded Karuna Therapeutics and served as president of research and development, leading the company through its $14 billion acquisition by Bristol Myers Squibb in 2024. He was the lead inventor of KarXT, now marketed as COBENFY for schizophrenia treatment, which represents the first novel mechanism approved for the indication in decades.

At Karuna, Miller held multiple executive positions including chief operating officer and chief executive officer. He also served on the company's board of directors during the acquisition process.

Miller currently serves as chairman of Progentos Therapeutics' board and sits on the board of Montara Therapeutics. He advises several investment firms including GV, General Atlantic, Vida Ventures, and Longwood Fund, along with the One Mind Foundation.

Alto Neuroscience operates as a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing precision medicines for neuropsychiatric disorders. The company's pipeline includes drug candidates for treatment-resistant depression, major depressive disorder, bipolar depression, and schizophrenia.

The company is conducting a Phase 2b trial of ALTO-207 in treatment-resistant depression. Alto uses what it calls a Precision Psychiatry Platform that analyzes EEG activity, neurocognitive assessments, and wearable data to identify patients more likely to respond to its treatments.

Miller holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Time magazine named him to its 100 Next Generation Leaders and 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare for 2025.
