MaxLinear Inc. (NASDAQ: MXL) and GCT Semiconductor Holding Inc. (NYSE: GCTS) announced a strategic partnership to develop 5G fixed wireless access gateways and converged gateways for consumer and enterprise applications.

The companies plan to demonstrate their integrated solutions at Computex Taipei from June 2-6 at MaxLinear's booth in Hall 1, Booth K0006. The partnership combines MaxLinear's Wi-Fi and network processing technologies with GCT's 5G and LTE cellular technologies through pre-integrated solutions.

The collaboration focuses on creating cost-effective gateway solutions that enable seamless migration between multiple WAN technologies including fiber, cable, and cellular connections. The companies describe their approach as delivering multi-gigabit data rates through features like channel bonding, traffic shaping and SD-WAN capabilities.

"Our collaboration with GCT strengthens MaxLinear's commitment to delivering high-performance connectivity solutions that meet the rapidly evolving needs of service providers and end users," said Puneet Sethi, senior vice president and general manager of MaxLinear's Network Infrastructure and Carrier Business Unit.

GCT CEO John Schlaefer stated that the partnership allows the company "to bring powerful, integrated 5G and LTE solutions to market more quickly and efficiently while addressing the growing demand for high-speed broadband and resilient multi-WAN connectivity."

MaxLinear provides radio frequency and mixed-signal integrated circuits for datacenter connectivity and network infrastructure. GCT designs 5G semiconductor solutions for wireless connectivity applications. Both companies are based in California, with MaxLinear headquartered in Carlsbad and GCT in San Jose.
