E-Power secures $213,000 government grant for energy storage research

E-Power Inc. (NASDAQ: EPOW) announced it received RMB 1,555,600 (approximately $213,000) in government funding from the Department of Science and Technology of Guizhou Province for its energy storage anode materials research project.

The company's research and development project, titled "Research and Development of Advanced Anode Materials for New Energy Storage under the 'Rich Mineral Refined Extraction' Initiative," passed expert evaluation and was selected for the 2026 first batch of the "Three-Scale-Up Enterprises" R&D Innovation Support and Science and Technology Enterprise Cultivation Program.

The funding will support research and development of high-performance carbon-based and composite anode materials for large-scale energy storage systems, focusing on improved energy density, cycle life, and cost efficiency. E-Power operates a 50,000-ton graphite anode manufacturing facility through its joint venture, which uses renewable electricity sources.

"Securing this specialized funding from the Department of Science and Technology of Guizhou Province through such a rigorous expert review process is an outstanding testament to the depth of our R&D capabilities," said Haiping Hu, Chairman of E-Power Inc.

E-Power manufactures and sells graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries through its joint venture. The company was founded by Hu, who has worked in the graphite anode industry since 1999. The Dover-based company also provides AI data center microgrid solutions alongside its battery materials business.
