Aviat Networks expands microwave platform targeting $250M market
Aviat Networks Inc. (NASDAQ: AVNW) announced an expansion of its microwave platform that combines Pasolink and IRU600 products into an integrated solution. The company said the update targets an incremental addressable market valued at over $250 million.
The expansion includes two components: an upgrade for North American customers and a new long-haul solution called Pasolink LH for international markets. For North American operators, the Pasolink VR platform now supports existing IRU600 indoor and ODU600 outdoor radio units, allowing indoor unit upgrades with what the company describes as minimal disruption.
The North American solution supports up to 16 radios from a single indoor chassis, which Aviat said increases nodal capacity by up to 50 percent. The system includes redundancy features and hitless software upgrades.
The international offering, Pasolink LH, is built on Aviat's IRU600 indoor radio operating in 4 to 11 GHz bands. The company said the solution enables antennas that are 50 percent smaller and 75 percent lighter than conventional alternatives. A single antenna system can support up to 16 radio channels and deliver over 10 Gbps of aggregate capacity.
"These announcements reflect our ongoing commitment to the Pasolink platform and to the operators who depend on it," said Pete Smith, CEO of Aviat Networks.
Aviat said it has secured initial orders for the updated long-haul solutions across multiple regions and expects to begin shipments in the third quarter of 2026. The Austin, Texas-based company provides wireless transport and access solutions to communications service providers and private network operators.
