Sweetgreen names Cindy Olsen as chief strategy officer
Sweetgreen Inc. (NYSE: SG) appointed Cindy Olsen as senior vice president and chief strategy officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement. The newly created position reports directly to Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Neman.
Olsen joins Sweetgreen from Chipotle Mexican Grill, where she served as head of investor relations and strategy. At Chipotle, she worked with the executive team on long-term strategy development and stakeholder communication. Prior to Chipotle, she spent 17 years as a managing director and equity research analyst at Nuveen and Franklin Templeton, covering consumer sector companies.
In her new role, Olsen will oversee corporate strategy and strategic communications. The position bridges strategy, finance, and operations, with responsibility for translating strategic priorities into measurable outcomes and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
"Cindy is known for her ability to drive profitable growth through a disciplined approach to strategic decision-making," said Neman. "She is the perfect addition to the executive team at this juncture in our transformation, with deep consumer and restaurant industry experience."
Olsen said she plans to work with the leadership team to accelerate the company's transformation plan while building long-term profitable growth.
Sweetgreen operates more than 285 locations nationwide, serving seasonal menus focused on connecting consumers to locally-sourced food. The Los Angeles-based company has been publicly traded since 2021.
