CPI Aerostructures Inc. (NYSE American: CVU) announced that its subsidiary Welding Metallurgy Inc. received follow-on orders from Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) to manufacture welded structure assemblies for E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.

Under the contract terms, Welding Metallurgy will produce more than 20 different complex welded assemblies supporting E-2D aircraft production, with deliveries scheduled through 2028. The company will manufacture the assemblies under its NADCAP certification for fusion and resistance welding.

"These Northrop Grumman orders are a testimony of our capabilities and continue our long history of providing welded assemblies and kitting services in support of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye program."

The company stated it is approved to several aerospace and defense original equipment manufacturer weld specifications for multiple metals including steel, aluminum and titanium. The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is an airborne early warning command and control aircraft used by U.S. and allied forces.

CPI Aero operates as a prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Defense and as a Tier 1 subcontractor to aerospace and defense contractors. The company reported a funded backlog exceeding $95 million and an unfunded backlog of $400 million for a total backlog of $495 million.
