Baker Hughes extends well construction contract with Petrobras
Baker Hughes (NASDAQ: BKR) announced an extension and expansion of its integrated well construction contract with Petrobras for operations in Brazil's Santos Basin. The energy technology company will provide comprehensive well construction services across several oilfields in the basin.
The expanded contract will deploy Baker Hughes' technology portfolio including the AutoTrak rotary steerable system, logging-while-drilling tools, and Dynamus extended-life drill bits for deepwater well construction. The services target Brazil's pre-salt oil and gas developments.
This agreement builds on a well construction services contract announced in early 2024. Baker Hughes stated the project will be executed through its Integration & Solutions team working with Petrobras' wells team.
"The success of this critical project illustrates the strength and capabilities of Baker Hughes' comprehensive portfolio, offering an integrated, solutions-focused approach," said Amerino Gatti, Baker Hughes Executive Vice President of Oilfield Services & Equipment.
The collaboration will utilize technologies and expertise across wireline, cementing, wellbore cleanup, fishing, remedial tools, fluids, services and geosciences for Petrobras' offshore well construction operations.
Baker Hughes operates in over 120 countries and provides solutions to energy and industrial customers worldwide, according to the company's press release.
