TEGNA names Patrick Paolini as CEO effective June 1
TEGNA Inc. announced the appointment of Patrick Paolini as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1. Paolini will oversee the company's daily operations, revenue strategies, local journalism and production, and growth initiatives while reporting to TEGNA's Board of Directors.
Paolini brings more than 30 years of local broadcast management experience to TEGNA. He joins from FOX Television Stations, where he served as Executive Vice President of Advertising Sales since 2023, managing ad sales strategy across the FOX Television Station Group.
Previously, Paolini was Senior Vice President and General Manager of WTTG FOX 5 and WDCA FOX 5 Plus in Washington, D.C., starting in 2013. During his tenure, the stations reached the top market position through expanded local news and lifestyle programming. His earlier roles included Senior Vice President of FOX Stations Advertising Sales and management positions at FOX stations in Philadelphia and New York.
"Patrick is an ideal choice to lead TEGNA," the Board of Directors stated. "He brings deep expertise in the broadcast television industry, major-market station management, and high-quality local news, along with a proven track record of driving revenue growth across linear and digital platforms."
Paolini said he was honored to join TEGNA and expressed respect for the company's local news delivery across its stations and digital platforms. He indicated TEGNA would continue providing service to viewers, advertisers, and communities while expanding across modern media platforms.
TEGNA operates 64 local television stations in 51 U.S. markets and hundreds of websites, mobile and Connected TV apps, plus Premion, a Connected TV and Over-the-Top advertising platform. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nexstar Media Group (NASDAQ: NXST).
