Aurora Mobile reports Q1 2026 revenue growth and return to profitability
Aurora Mobile Limited (NASDAQ: JG) reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of RMB93.3 million ($13.5 million), representing a 5% increase from the same period last year, according to the company's unaudited financial results.
The Chinese customer engagement and marketing technology services provider achieved net income of RMB1.2 million ($0.2 million), compared with a net loss of RMB1.6 million in the first quarter of 2025. This marked the company's fourth consecutive quarter of profitability on a GAAP basis.
Gross profit increased 13% year-over-year to RMB66.3 million ($9.6 million), while cost of revenues decreased 10% to RMB27.0 million ($3.9 million). The gross margin improved to 71.0% from 66.1% in the prior-year period.
Developer Services revenue rose 15% to RMB71.6 million ($10.4 million), driven by growth in the company's core subscription business, which reached a record RMB64.9 million. The company's EngageLab platform reported annual recurring revenue of $11.7 million as of March 2026, representing 172% year-over-year growth.
Vertical Applications revenue declined 19% to RMB21.7 million ($3.1 million) compared with the same quarter last year.
Total operating expenses increased 9% to RMB66.1 million ($9.6 million), primarily due to higher research and development costs of RMB28.7 million and increased sales and marketing expenses of RMB25.9 million.
The company reported adjusted EBITDA of RMB2.9 million ($0.4 million), compared with RMB0.5 million in the first quarter of 2025. Cash and cash equivalents, restricted cash and short-term investments totaled RMB142.2 million ($20.6 million) as of March 31, 2026.
During the quarter, Aurora Mobile repurchased 41,683 American Depositary Shares for approximately $316,100 as part of its ongoing share repurchase program.
