Investing.com - Volvo Cars announced Tuesday it will expand access to Tesla Supercharging stations for its drivers in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

Starting in the fourth quarter of this year, Volvo drivers will be able to charge their fully electric vehicles at more than 20,000 Tesla Supercharger stations across Europe using the company's app. The network spans 29 European countries, with the majority of stations located in Germany, France, Norway, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Spain.

Volvo Cars also plans to transition selected models to the North American Charging System in Japan and South Korea by 2029, which will provide access to the Tesla Supercharger network for Volvo drivers in those markets.

"Volvo drivers already have access to over three million charging points globally through the Volvo app," said Alejandro Castro Pérez, Head of Energy Solutions at Volvo Cars. "Adding Tesla Superchargers in Europe means they now have even easier access to one of the most recognised fast charging networks."

Electric Volvo drivers currently can use the Volvo Cars app at 120,000 charging points in North America, including Tesla Superchargers, as well as more than 1.2 million charging points across Europe.
