Align Technology to open manufacturing facility in Hyderabad

Align Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: ALGN) announced plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, India, with operations expected to begin in 2027. The medical device company plans to invest approximately $200 million in capital and operational expenses over several years for the project.

The facility is expected to create more than 300 jobs and will be Align's first manufacturing presence in India. The company currently operates three manufacturing facilities globally and maintains a Global Capability Center and Innovation Center in Hyderabad.

The investment falls within Align's capital equipment guidance provided for 2026, according to the company's statement. Align manufactures the Invisalign clear aligner system, iTero intraoral scanners, and exocad CAD/CAM software for dental applications.

"India represents an important growth market for Align, and we are excited about the opportunity to expand our global manufacturing network with a new facility in Hyderabad," said Jitse Marrée, executive vice president of global operations.

The company stated the facility is expected to be margin accretive in its first year of operation. Align serves approximately 299,500 doctor customers globally and has treated approximately 22.8 million patients with the Invisalign system over 29 years.

The Hyderabad facility will support the Asia-Pacific region as part of Align's strategy to expand operations in high-growth markets. JunHo Han, executive vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific, described the investment as reflecting the company's commitment to the region.
