20/20 Biolabs prepares contingency plans for Ebola and Hantavirus testing

May 22, 2026 8:31 AM

20/20 Biolabs Inc. (NASDAQ: AIDX) announced it is developing contingency plans to establish Ebola and Hantavirus testing capabilities in its laboratory if needed to support public health agencies during potential outbreak scenarios.

The Gaithersburg, Maryland-based company stated it would draw on experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic, when it processed more than 400,000 clinical samples in 2021 and 2022 under contracts with Montgomery County and Maryland Departments of Health.

The company is engaging with PCR test kit developers globally to assess supply chain options and evaluating existing PCR testing equipment from its pandemic operations to determine if it can be repurposed for potential near-term demands.

"Our strategy is designed to be adaptable across multiple analytical platforms and reagent supply chains, reflecting lessons learned during prior pandemic-scale testing operations," said Jiming Zhou, Chief Operating Officer of 20/20 Biolabs.

The announcement does not indicate regulatory authorization, clinical availability, or a commercial decision regarding Ebola or Hantavirus tests. Any future development would depend on public health needs, partner interest, regulatory requirements, and internal resource allocation, according to the company's statement.

20/20 Biolabs operates a CAP-accredited CLIA laboratory and develops AI-powered blood tests for early detection of cancers and chronic diseases. The company offers OneTest for Cancer, a multi-cancer early detection blood test, and OneTest for Longevity, which measures inflammatory biomarkers.
